    injection Fury !

A couple of weeks ago now I got a letter saying that I needed to take Ava for her Meningitis B injection. At the time I thought this was a little odd as I was under the impression that she had already had hers and didn’t need any more. Like everything else this letter was put on the fridge and I didn’t think about it again until today. I had been advised by my health visitor to give Ava some Calpol before having her injections. I too was a little dubious about this as how would I see if she had any reaction to the injection ?. I just did as…

    Comforters yes or no !

As you may have read in a previous post Ava has a dummy and is very comforted by it when is upset or tired. Without this Dummy I may be pulling my hair out as it soothes her very quickly and sometimes is the only thing to calm her. We are big fans of comforters !. Then recently we noticed that she would find the labels on anything and suck then . So I searched the Internet and came across the slumber sac Taggie blanket . This consists of a little blanket which has different textured labels around the outside which she loves to feel or suck . I have…

A good night sleep with Cosi bed sheet

,When Ava was born she was a really good sleeper , from day one she would go 3-4 hours during the night . We then got to the point where she would wake once in the night or not at all !. We were so lucky being able to have a good night sleep. Then at 4 months old she decided that sleep wasn’t for her ,nothing I would do would make her sleep every night was a battle. So I started to search for something that would help her to sleep. Ava loved to be swaddled as a baby so my first thought was a sleep sac but we…

Weaning made easy with the Béaba Babycook plus

When I first started to think about weaning Ava I really wanted to make everything myself so I knew exactly what she was having. I did try a few times but found the equipment I had just didn’t do the job good enough and was really time consuming. So sadly I had given up on homemade meals . So when I was approached by Béaba to see if I would like to review their Babycook plus I was over the moon. I was hoping that this piece of equipment would help me achieve the goal I had in the start to give Ava homemade meals. The Béaba baby cook is…

Pregnancy old wives tales true or false ??

During my pregnancy I was told so many differnt things due to old wives tales people thinking they could tell the sex of my baby and heartburn being an indicator for things but I found a lot of them to be completely untrue and after a while it does get kind of annoying people thinking they know things because of old tales. The main one I had Before we had our gender scan was. You must be having a boy as you haven’t had morning sickness and your carrying all around the front !. Well they were wrong I had a girl . The other one was your baby is…

Put down the baby books !!

I remember when I was pregnant I was offered some baby and pregnancy books . Them ones that tell you what to expect , I did decline not because I didn’t want their books but just because I didn’t want any books about pregnancy and having a baby. Just the other day whilst out with Ava I heard a group of moms talking about what there little ones can and cannot do . One mom said that in the book they had it said their little one should be sitting at 6 months and there little one wasn’t . She then went on to say that do you think I…

So much changes in the first six months of your little one life it’s crazy , there are many milestones that they will reach and many of these moments will just melt your heart watching them achieve them. You bring home your little bundles of joy and within the first few days they change. Ava would always be there eyes wide open watching the world go by taking it all in . Within a few weeks she started to sleep more at night going longer and longer between feed which was amazing . Speaking to other new moms I realised quickly how lucky we were getting between 4-5 hours between…

The new age of the playroom

This is a collaborative post  For decades the children’s playroom was a place of years gone by, a hangover from the Victorian age that was only seen in homes that had plenty of space to spare. Now, while giving over an entire room to play is not a choice that’s open to everyone, a playroom is jumping to the top of many homebuyers’ ‘would like to have’ lists. Is it time you cleared a space of your own things and signed it over to the younger members of the family? Do you already have a playroom or perhaps dream of clearing the kids’ clutter all into one designated place? According…

    Hartbeeps muti-sensory class review

Yesterday we were very kindly asked to go to the launch of Hartbeeps in Telford. For those of you that don’t know Hartbeeps is an award winning multi-sensory class for children right from birth. Many of you will know how hard it is to get out of the house with one child, well yesterday me and my friend thought it would be a good idea to take three children to the Hartbeeps class. So as you can guess we were running late after my daughter was crying in the car and my friends eldest needing the toilet . So sadly we missed the start of the class. Emma the leader of…

The cost of having a baby

When I was pregnant I remember looking  through the Internet to see how much having a baby would cost us . I found that it was suggested you needed £5,500 pounds in the bank , before you should think about having a baby. Which we didn’t have and if I’m honest I don’t know many people that do . This did start to stress me out a little as I wanted the best for our new arrival and was we going to be able to afford it !. When we started to buy things for our new arrival we found that family wanted to help us . My parents had…

Hand me down love -the realisation children dont need everything new

When we first had Ava I was adamant that I didn’t want any hand me down clothes or toys . I was under the impression that we would look like we could afford things for her if we accepted it and this was not the case. We both had full time jobs before Ava came along and Jordan works really hard to make sure we don’t go without!. So surely we didn’t need hand me down items. I soon came to realise that babies have so many presents when they are first born that you just don’t know what to do with them. As hard as I tired there was…

    Thicker Hair with Nanogen

Since having Ava I have found that my hair has gone really thin and falls out in but clumps how I am not bald I will never know. So when I was offered the Chance to try Nanogen thickening treatment I was intrigued to see if it would work. The Nanogen hair thickening products have a growth factor that encourages hair growth right from the first use. It’s used in the same way as all shampoo and conditioners, but do make sure to leave the conditioner on for the specified time of 4 minutes. Along with the shampoo and conditioner I did try the Hair thickening spray but found that…
