    For the last time she’s a girl !

    Now I’m starting to get a little annoyed by the amount of people referring to Ava as a boy . Surely if you don’t know the child and it’s not obvious then don’t refer to their sex . Personally I think Ava looks like a girl . I think she has really feminine features . So it really annoys me when people say ” what a cute little boy “. I have even gone to the extreme of dressing her in very gender specific colour in order to stop this gender confusion . Did this help ? Did it boat . The other day she was dressed all in pink and a…

    NCC home learning – Fiction/ creative writing competition

    Since I have started blogging I have written in a way that I have never written before. I was so used to Formal writing. This was a format I felt comfortable with . As I had written like this for years both at university and at work. Making the transition to creative writing at times can be hard. English has never been my strong point so thinking of words to make my writing sound more interesting can sometime be difficult . I do like to think over the months I have become better at this and it has become more natural to me. NCC home learning have put together a competition where…

    The day when Ava will have to go to nursery is fast approaching. Working in a nursery now for many years now I know all to well how important it is to label your children’s things. I started by heading over to their website to find the design for me. There is a design for everything from pink and pretty to footballs. They come in different shapes and sizes and different ;

    Hosting a creative kids party: New trends to try

     This is a collaborative post . There are some kids party traditions that have stood the test of time, and for good reason. After all, who doesn’t love a game of pass the parcel or taking a party bag with them when they head home? However, once you’re past the post when it comes to party attendance and have graduated to the role of host as the parent of a toddler or tween, parties have the potential to become a slightly more stressful affair. According to SunLife, parents spend around £100 helping kids celebrate their birthday with a party, though research from Vouchercloud (via ) suggests this figure is often…

    More and more often I am hearing about essential oils and how they can help with a number of different things. I have only used essential oils once before and that was when I was pregnant. So when the people over at Eden’s Semilla asked if I would like to try their new range of essential oils . I was intrigued to see what other oils where on the market and what they could do for me.…
