The Mummy Tag

I was recently tagged in a mummy tag from Angela over at Days in Bed.  Thank you Angela I have never taken part in a post like this. I am really excited to see what the questions may be.

Are you a woking mom or a stay at home mom ?

I am currently on Maternity leave and not due back to work until January. Before going on maternity leave I was a manager of a nursery for children aged between 2-4 years.

Would you have it any other way ?

I am loving having my time off with Ava being able to watch her grow and develop. I am looking forward to going back to work. Just so i can have some time to be Jess again and not Mommy.

Do you co-sleep?

We have co-slept in the past as we got to the point where we were both up all night. She loves co-sleeping and settles really well. In fact I really like co-sleeping as I love to be close to her . We have recently started to transition her into her cot more often. As when I start back at work we would like her to sleep all night in her cot.

What is your must have item for your baby?

Ava loves her dummy I don’t go anywhere without it just in case she has a meltdown. She is starting to take this out when she is asleep which is great !! as the less she has it the better. Along with her dummy Ava has always liked something to snuggle . This doesn’t necessarily have to be a blanket anything she can snuggle up to will do. I have been out before and forgot to take a blanket and she was comforted by snuggling her cardi.

How many kids do you plan on having ?

Ideally I would like to say two children. If something happened and resulted in 3 it wouldn’t be the end of the world.

Date night how often do you have them ?

I cannot remember the last time we had a ” date night “. Me and Jordan have always loved to just have a takeaway and watch rubbish that is on telly. We still do this so I suppose that our sort of date night.

Your child’s favourite show ?

Ava has got so much love for Peppa Pig its untrue. We have seen a Peppa Pig toy in the shops and she freaked until i picked it up. I never realised that children so young would love a telly programme so much !

Name one thing you brought before you had a baby and never ended up using ?

To be honest I think we used everything that we borught for Ava . we did have far to many coats and hats for one little girl !.

Your child’s favourite food

We are still trying a lot of new tastes with Ava as she is only 9 months. I have found that she loves garlic bread the stronger the taste the better.

How many cards does your family have ?

We are very lucky to have two cars. Mine is the family car that fits everyone in including the dog. Then Jordan has his car for getting to work and back.

Weight gain,before pregnancy,during, after and now

Before I got pregnant i was a size 8 both bottom and tops. I had never really had to think about my weight. I was able to eat what i wanted when i wanted . During my pregnancy i put on 4 stone !!. This didn’t start to bother me until i had Ava. I really hated this new body i had. I have now lost 3 and 1/2 stone and happier with the way i look.

Dream holiday with your kids

I cannot wait for the day to take Ava to Disney land. I was very lucky to go when i was a child. Unfortunatly i think i went at the wrong age. Being 10 i didn’t believe in the magic of Disney but was too small for the rides.

To be honest anywhere hot where I can lie on a sun lounger and not really do a lot would be a dream right now.

How has your life changes since having kids?

Gosh my life is completely different . I now have such a good social life between the hours of 9-4 we honestly don’t stop. I am deffinatly closer to my family as make an effort to see them so Ava knows her family. I wasn’t really at that time in my life where partying was a big thing.So the early night at home really don’t bother me.

I wake up in the morning and see this beautiful little girl that we made.

Where do you shop for your kids?

If I’m completely honest i shop wherever is closet be it Aldi or Asda. I’m not a brand snob at all. When  it comes to clothes i am the same with this you will find clothes from all shops in Ava’s wardrobe. I just buy what i like .

Favourite makeup and skincare product?

I would say concealer is my new best friend . In the morning it converts me from walking zombie to looking more human.

Huggies or Pampers ?

If I’m honest I have only ever used these brands if I have received free sample. I find that supermarket own brands do the job at a fraction of the price.

Have you always wanted kids ?

For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to be a mommy . Whenever I would think about my future it would always involve having children.

Best part of being a mom ?

The fact that I can say she is mine makes me so happy .As she is such a happy go lucky little girl. I cannot wait to see her develop and grow in the future.
