How we got our two year old to stop wearing a night nappy

Ava has been out of a nappy in the day since June . She really did so well with her potty training it was so much easier than I thought it was going to be. Once I knew we had the day sorted with no nappies I thought it was time we started to think about taking away the night nappy. For a few weeks prior to taking the nappy away at night I made a point of checking her nappy in the morning to see if she had done a wee in it. 9/10 it was dry , so I started to talk to her about taking it away…

5 reasons why children should go to nursery

Since becoming a parent I seem to have become apart of a lot of parenting groups . A lot of the time if I’m honest I just scroll on past and don’t really read many of the posts . Mainly because they are parents posting pictures of a rashes asking what is it . Now I’m now Doctor so I don’t like to put my penny’s worth in just incase someone takes my word for it .I have however seen a lot of posts over the last few months about nurseries . If people send their children to nurseries . You may not know but I have worked in childcare…

Which is just ridiculous .There are some things that I have learnt along the way . If you have sold a house do you agree with any of these ? 5 things I have learnt whilst selling our house People are just cheeky We have had quite a few viewings over the 12 months our house has been on the market . Taking a break can give you the boost you need to start again

This Christmas is the first year since having my blog that I haven’t really shared much on social media. Or written any posts. Even when Alby was first born I was getting posts out sharing how we were doing. This year though something felt different. I wasn’t getting the urge to write like I have before. I was just enjoying being in the moment not worry about photographing it to share on Instagram. Or making notes so I could write about our day once the kids had gone to bed. I was starting to let my blog overwhelm me. I was constantly working on it in some way or another.…

How I stopped my Daughter using her dummy

Ava is now Three and for the last 6 months I have been thinking about taking away her dummy. Not for any reason other than I think she’s getting too old for it. The road to getting rid of the dummy has been a long one. This is because Ava isnt one for change she likes to know when things will happen and how they will happen. So we she started back at nursery we started to really reduce the amount she had her dummy. I think seeing other children at nursery not having a dummy work wonders for her. She was never one to have it in her mouth…

Inflata Nation Birmingham a bouncing good time : review

Whilst most of you were waking up on Boxing Day and deciding if to have chocolate or turkey sandwiches for breakfast. We were at Inflata Nation in Birmingham. We were very kindly given free entry in return for a review. Although we were given free entry my review is completely honest.  Why Boxing Day I bet a lot of you are thinking . Well I knew I wanted to go to one of their Tots sessions which I will tell you more about in a bit . Also on Christmas Eve Ava was saying goodbye to her dummy so I thought it would make a nice treat . What is…

Top trends for Girls’ party dresses in 2019

This is a collaborative post  I have to admit that I’m really enjoying watching Ava grow and develop her very own sense of style the older she gets. Even if it does take us 10 times longer to get ready in the morning . Whether it’s her love for shoes that we’ve accidentally passed onto her or the way she likes to put together her own outfits every morning, it’s lovely to watch her grow and find a sense of self through fashion. And whereas we’ve decided to keep things fairly casual for the end-of-year celebrations, I could not stop myself from taking a gander at what 2019 has in…

I have surived the first year of being a mom of two

Tuesday was Alby’s first birthday so that means that I have survived a year of being a mom of two . Both kids are still in one piece and are happy and healthy. So I take that as a win we must be doing something right. Being a parent to two children is hard work, anyone that says it’s easy is lying to you. Going from one to two is hard. There are some things that I have come to realise over the last year. If you’re a parent of two can you relate to any of them. Sleep is a thing of the past Sleep doesn’t really happen much…

Just when I though Asthma wasn’t a problem in our house anymore

Just when we thought trips to the hospital because of Asthma was a thing of the past . Last weekend I ended up in hospital not because of Ava having breathing difficulties but because Alby was. I will take you back to when it happened. As I know people have said in the past they have found it handy me describing to them what happened. The thing is with Asthma it can flare up at any time and knowing the signs that something isn’t right can really make the difference. I had been out at a physio appointment and had come back in to both children snuggled up in blankets having…

Food and drink for the festive period

When I think of Christmas one of the things I think of is the food and drink . Christmas is a good excuse to get together have a few drinks and have a buffet. I have searched out some great drink choices for you and also some things to tingle the taste buds. Let’s start with the drink Organic Prosecco and Prosecco Superiore Over the last few years Prosecco has become more and more popular. This may be down to the fact that it’s now actually pretty affordable. These two bottles from Aldi wont break the bank and they taste lovely. The Organic Prosecco is an Eco-friendly fizz comes from…

Our awful experience with Purplebricks estate agents

We put our house on the market with Purplebricks nearly a year ago .One of their advisors came out to our house went through all the paper work. Talked over the payment details arrange to come out to take photos and that was it. If you’re wanting an estate agent that helps you through the whole buying and selling process then don’t pick Purplebricks. For a long time nothing really happened we didn’t have anyone book to view our house and had no communication with our advisor . At the time we were fine with that as I had just had Alby and didn’t really want to think about it…

    Safety 1st Anti-slip bath pads : review

Bath times are crazy in our house . Two kids and one bath makes for a lot of splashing . Up until recently Alby was still in a bath seat . Mainly because I was scared to take him out of it as his always climbing . We didn’t have anything on the bottom of the bath to stop him from slipping. Then the lovely people over at Safety 1st asked me if I would like to review their bath pads. After reading about the bath pads I was intrigued to see if they would calm my worries. The bath pads are like nothing I have seen before . They…

You’ll even have articles telling you how to slim down after your body has bloomed in pregnancy and changed afterwards – insert eyeroll here.…

Going back to work has made me a better parent

I can honestly say I’m a much better parent now my kids are at nursery . Near the end of my maternity leave I was finding it hard . Constantly having children around me and having little sleep because Alby still like to wake up in the night . Was making me ratty. Which most of the time resulted in me shouting at the kids. Afterwards I would feel awful about it. I don’t particularly think shouting is needed when it comes to managing your children’s behaviour . So it does pain me that I was going down a route where I would turn to shouting at them . I…

    Why I’m stopping at two

Having children is bloody hard , even if your one of those carefree parents from time to time it’s got to be stressful. As soon as I had Alby I had people asking me if I was having anymore . This time I felt so different I knew I was done after two . I didn’t and still don’t now feel like I want any more children. I have found going from one to two harder than I expected. Ava still wants all the attention and finds it hard at times when she doesn’t get it. This normally results in a temper tantrum . Which I completely understand why she…

Then there are going to be all sorts of chores that you need to get done and people who you are going to want to visit as time goes by. So, here’s everything that you need to know about getting your baby…

So that’s it back to work for me

My first day back at work is done . If I’m honest it doesn’t feel like I have been away from the place . Some staff may have changed but it’s still the same place. I will say I’m one of those people who likes to go to work . Although my job is challenging I do really enjoy doing what I do. I really had that Sunday feeling yesterday it was so odd . As I hadn’t felt like it in such a long time. I can never sleep on a Sunday night when I’m at work the next day so I did wake a little tired today .…

Having a blog won’t make you a millionaire

If you think after having your blog for a few weeks you should be earning money and companies should want to work with you. Then you need to think again . I’m in several Facebook groups and more often I’m seeing posts like I’m new to the blogging world what’s the best way to monetise my blog This is so infuriating . When I first started my blog I didn’t even know it was possible to make money from blogging . I didn’t start blogging to get products or to work with brands . I started blogging because I was lonely. After speaking to a friend who already had a…
