Blog entry
Here you will find blog posts about everyday life of being a parent. The ups and the downs. Times things went well and I wanted to share them with you all and the times when I was near rock bottom and needed to share it with someone. These blog post are like a form of therapy for me I write what ever I'm thinking about at the time. In the hope that someone has felt the same and can tell me it's going to be okay. Or if you land on my page at 3 o'clock in the morning after the 5th hour of being awake with your little one. You will be able to see that were all in the same boat. We all get through it, so keep on going your amazing !

My top 10 baby buys that are actually worth the money
Having a baby there is so much stuff you need to get. But what products are good and what are a waste of money. Below are my top ten baby buys I think every parent needs in their life. Ewan the dream sheep– We have been really lucky with Ava’s sleeping right from the start she was going about three hours through the night !!( I know a lot of mommy’s were jealous about that). When she was a couple of weeks old she started to become harder to get to sleep without us holding her and this is something we didn’t want to do. One night when Jordan was…

Our first baby class
So today I grew a pair and took Ava to my first baby class by myself !. The worry started before I even left the house , what should I wear ?( this isn’t normally a problem I have I just wanted to make sure I looked like a good mommy, how ever they look !). To make my morning that little bit more stressful the dog just didn’t want to come inside and being late is one of my pet hates so this was stressing me out a little. Its like she can just sense when were going out and I’m in a rush as she tends to by…

Today we got messy
We are really lucky that just down the road from our house is an arts and crafts shop that offers a place for you to take your children to get creative. You can do anything from sticking and painting at your table to pottery. A plus side of Codsall Hive is the yummy food and drink they have to offer, making it a perfect place to come and meet your friends and also entertain the kids ( bonus !). Today me and my friend did the mid-week messy canvas painting, for the small price of £10 you are given a canvas for your child to mark make on and a…

Stepping out to baby classes
I remember when I was pregnant I had all good intentions that I was going to take Ava to all these amazing different classes to stimulate her . Well as I was house bound for the first 6 weeks because of having a C-section I think I lost some of my confidence with doing this . Don’t get me wrong me and Ava don’t sit in the house all day and don’t see anyone , I have taken her places but only where i have arranged to meet people I know . I think it’s the thought of walking into a room and not knowing anyone and thinking are all…

Why this all started !!
I have known about blogging for a while now but thought why would anyone want to read about my life or would I even be any good at it ( being dyslexic my spelling is not the best and the thought of people seeing all my spelling mistakes did scare me a little ). Since having Ava I have met friends more and experienced a lot more different things ( like poo all over me at 3am !!). speaking to some of my friends they say just give it a go!you’ve got nothing to loose. So this got me thinking I was nearly finished with all my uni work till…

you will find it so easy !!
You will find it so easy!! was the phrase I heard the most when talking to people about being a parent because you work in childcare. I have worked in childcare now for around 6 years, but before that I helped at my dance school with the little ones, so I have had a lot to do with children. So people made the assumption that I would find being a parent a walk in the park. What I think people forgot to think about is that I had never taken a child home, had to do night feeds, knowing when to up their milk or just generally looking after a…

Teething problems !! – possible solutions
We have been thinking this week that maybe Ava is teething. As we have had horrible nappies, she is chomping on everything and nice rosy cheeks.A lot of people keep telling me she is too young to be teething. As she is only 11 weeks old .( bet they don’t know some children can be born with teeth !! Ouch ! ) So I thought I would look into different ways to help sooth her gums if she starts to be in pain with them ( No harm in being prepared! ). When looking on the internet I came across some strange and odd ways. To help sooth their gums,…

Doctor’s make you feel so stupid !!
So for about two weeks now Ava has had a cold and a little cough. Last night she was crying a coughing lots ( this is unlike her she loves her sleep and I normally get a good 7 hours out of her, then all she wants is her dummy then back off to sleep she goes , Lucky I know !) . Nothing I was doing was easing it for her did the elevation of the mattress to prop her up and still she was upset. This morning I felt so sorry for her and thought right its about time I took her to the doctors. Having a history…

The aftermath of a c-section
As I said in my other blog post I really didn’t think I would have a c-section so didn’t really look that much into it ( unlike everything els in my pregnancy I research everything !!) . So I really didn’t know what to expect and after seeing other friends who have had a c section then get infection afterwards I was quite scared !! . I remember in hospital the day I had Ava everyone had gone home and I was left with the little baby all alone for the first time . She started to cry for some milk so I rang my buzzer and asked the nurse…

Student, mom, career minded woman you can be it all
I remember when I started university I was adamant I was going to wait till I had finished the course to have children. I didn’t think I could be both a mom and a student ! How wrong I was but things happen for a reason right! As I had to have a C-section my return to university was a lot later than I wanted giving me 5 weeks to learn the subject area and write an assignment on it !!( stressed is the word). There has been times when I’m writing my assignment on a really good flow then Ava decides to have the biggest break down ever ( almost as if the…

The new born photo shoot !!
We are very lucky to know such an amazing photographer so as soon as our little princess was born I knew I wanted Mel to take her photos . The day of the photo shoot came and I was a little nervous about having my picture taken . I hadn’t got used to this new mommy body yet and was finding it hard to come to terms with that fact that I now have wobbly bits .( before being pregnant I was a nice size 8 ! Hadn’t seen them size 8 jeans since 12 weeks pregnant !!). The other thing is I’m rubbish at having my photo taken It…

Pets and babies
When I found out I was pregnant and we started to tell people ,what I heard quite a lot of the time is so are you getting rid of the dog or remember never leave the dog alone with the baby ( like I would do that ) . This came quite frustrating as Kya ( that’s our dog ) was there before we knew I was pregnant and she is one of the family not something I would just toss out when we had enough of her !! . The last few months of my pregnancy having a very hyper dog was getting hard . I hate to say…

When all your birth plans go out the window !
So whenever anyone asked me what my birth plans were it was simple . I wanted a water birth with little intervention, well it didn’t really go to plan !. Well our little princess was meant to be with us on 21st December , that date had now been and gone and I had been up to the hospital so many times thinking she was coming but no such luck. Finally I got my date for my induction and could see the light at the end of the tunnel . Being now 10 days overdue I was so tired and just a ball of emotions. So got my bags packed…
