We did Mother’s Day a day early

Today we celebrated Mother’s Day . One of the main reasons for this is because restaurants place a hefty price tag on meals just because it’s Mother’s Day . Yes you may be able to take the mom along for free but then the other meals cost more than they normally would ! Why would I want to go to a restaurant and spend £20 more just because it’s Mother’s Day . I would rather go the day before and have the same meal and save some money ! Jordan did ask me what I wanted for Mother’s Day and to be honest I couldn’t really think of anything. I already…

My real thoughts about my Caesarean when I had Ava

This might sound really stupid but I was gutted i didn’t give birth to my daughter naturally .I had this image of how things would go and having a Caesarean wasn’t it . I remember telling Jordan if they want me to have a Caesarean  say no unless it’s a must. I used to be jealous of mom that had given birth naturally for a number of different reasons really . The first being that their body did what it was supposed to do and mine didn’t. I felt that I had failed I should’ve of been able to do it but my body didn’t. Also I remember feeling really…

chemical free baby wipes with water wipes: review

Off and on since Ava was little she has had nappy rash. Most recently she had a bad case of thrush and every time I wiped her with her normal wipes she would wince in pain. So I changed what I was doing and started to use water and cotton wool . This can be such a faff, especially if your out and about. This is when I started looking for an alternative and came across Water Wipes. These wipes were a game changer and now the lovely people over at Water Wipes have sent me some to review on my blog. This wasn’t the first time I had used Water…

Also in the job I am in I help children achieve the best that they can and that is so fulfilling. So that’s why my little blog started I had the fulfilment of seeing a child develop with Ava but was missing the pressure of work.   I didn’t for a moment think that when I started my blog that any companies…

I have grown some lady balls and booked to go to a blogging conference

One of my blogging goals for 2017 is to attend a blogging conference . To be honest I didn’t think I was going to complete this goal . Thankfully Faye from Glossytots had to same goal and we are going to embrace the scary world of blogging conference together . On the surface I may seem a pretty confident person . A little bit of what she likes isn’t harming Ava

Since Ava started to wean I have pretty much let her have what ever she wanted . She has even been known to have her pudding before her main meal ( bad mommy I know !) Growing up I was a rubbish eater and to be honest I’m not much better now. I had a diet of cheese sandwiches and chicken nuggets. I remember when I started middle school my mom would give me some dinner money . This dinner money never really got spent on food at school . Instead I would buy junk from the shops (sorry mom !) . We never had junk food like chocolate or…

PISA preschool tests to be introduced another stupid government idea #PISAoff

This is a subject I have such strong feeling towards, testing our children is it really needed. Do we really need to introduce the PISA preschool tests ? Why can children not just be children anymore. In education we are too obsessed with where they are in regards to “norms”. Parents are sending children to an educational setting from a younger age . Children are being observed and monitored from such an early age now. Us as Early years educators have such a stressful job . Also we have the added pressure of making sure children are “ school ready “. Children in other countries don’t have to start formal…

Do we need to teach our children to share all the time ?

Yesterday I went to play group with Ava and I was watching some of the other parents and children interacting. The amount of times I heard parents say you need to share was untrue, but do children need to share all the time. From a young age we as parents try to install certain traits that society deems as acceptable. The main one is that we should share with others. I understand the concept of sharing and most of the time I think yes we do need to teach our children to share but not all of the time. As we get into adult life we don’t share our things…
