It’s cool now to be Ginger

Growing up I had a few friends who were red heads or ginger as may people refer to it as. I watched the struggles they went through with bullying purely based on their hair colouring . As If someone’s hair colour is a reason to be horrid to them . Names like carrot head and ginger pubes would be thrown their way a lot. Even when they hadn’t done nothing to deserve being called names. I remember walking home from school with my friend and people we didn’t even know shouting these names at her. It then came to a point that people with red hair accepted being called these…

Blogging isn’t for the faint hearted- The true story of a blogger

Many people think of blogging as a way to get lots of free stuff.Lets think about it if it was really that easy then everyone would be doing it. There would be thousand more blogs. What people don’t see is what goes on behind the scenes . The amount of hours it takes to get a post perfect. Every time I am sent something to review I have to do a number of things before the blog post is ready for you to see. Firstly I have to test the product. If it’s a beauty product this can take a number of weeks to test. As I need to see how it will…

As a new year comes around a lot of people start thinking about what they want to achieve and do. My name is Jon and I run The Money Shed and in the last 18 months I’ve had 2 trips to Florida, a new car and a conservatory all paid for with online earnings and now I want to help you out as well! Being organised is key for getting out the house in the morning

Yesterday was my first day back at work and Ava’s first day at nursery. During my time off we haven’t really needed to leave the house that early . So I haven’t really had to get my arse into gear. So Monday evening I was in a little bit of a panic , the thought of being late to my first day of work was making me feel a little sick. This may also have been because I was a little nervous about going back to work. Not because I was worried about Ava but because I was worried if I was going to be able to be work me again.…

There are so many terms in the blogging world that I had never heard of before .the first one being linky . I had heard this term being thrown about a lot when I first started blogging and really wanted to know what it was all about . So after a little research I found out what it was all about . It’s pretty simple once you know what you’re  doing . So many bloggers hold things called linkys/link ups on their blogs . This is a place where other bloggers can share a link to a post they would like the get out there or just share . Not…

Today marks the day when my little baby was born . She is not so little anymore she is one, she isn’t aloud to be one . So much happens in the first year it’s madness . She has gone from a baby that couldn’t hold her own head up to taking he First steps and saying he First words all In a year . It has been the best year of my life . I didn’t realise…

Our first family Christmas how did it go

This time last year we were meant to have a baby to enjoy Christmas with but she decided she was to comfy in my tummy . So arrived late to the party and missed Christmas. So this year was our first Christmas as a family . What a magical time it has been , we have made memories to last a life time . Met up with family and friends and had some great family time at home. On Christmas Eve we visited the Black Country living museum . Where we went on the hunt for Santa . Yes Ava was far to little to understand what was going on but…

    My blogging goals for 2017

My blogging journey started in March this year  when my little space of the internet that I call Beauties and the bibs was created  . I have kind off been winging it and hopeing that I do something right . I have picked up nuggets of information along the way with what to do with all the techy stuff from Facebook blogger groups . Running and maintaining a blog is a lot harder work then I originally thought . I say to others don’t get consumed in your stats but it is really hard . Especially when you can see them going up and up then suddenly take a gigantic…

Don’t feel bad that you don’t breast feed your child .

Recently over Facebook you make have seen many pictures of women breast feeding their children with an overlay image of a tree. Symbolising the connection between mother and baby through breastfeeding .The roots of the trees being symbolic of the breast milk ducts  . To raise awareness  of breast feeding is fab but as a mom who doesn’t  breast feed it’s making me slightly annoyed . We made the decision to bottle feed Ava as it was the best thing for myself and Ava . I didn’t want to breastfeed . I didn’t want to make myself do it just because some people think I should. I myself was bottle…

The night time diaries Guest post from Conflab corner

Next up in the night time diaries is Jo from Conflab corner. Jo has some fab posts relating to her experience with raising children who have ADHD and autism. I think Jo’s blog would be of great reassurance for parents dealing with the same situations as her. Jo’s night time diaries is an interesting one as night times can be so different with children who had ADHD and autism.   Hi, my name is Jo and I blog at  Conflab corner. It is a blog about a range of things. I don’t consider myself a parent blogger per se, although obviously, as a parent, it’s something that comes up! My…

why is sensory play so important for babies ?

Sensory play is so important for little ones development it’s how they learn about the world around them. You are more than likely doing sensory play at home and not really realising. Using simple things like tin foil or shakers are a really good sensory experiences for children. Sensory play doesn’t always have to be messy its play that involves all the senses Touch, taste, smell, sight, sounds. We have done lots of sensory exploration with Ava since she was a very young age. When she was around 3 months old I took her to our first sensory class at our local craft centre. Which she absolutely loved and her art…

Not just one but four new teeth

It’s been a long week in our house . Ava hasn’t been well so this has made her ultra clingy and moaning a lot . I thought it could be her teeth but wasn’t sure. To start with I really wasn’t sure what was wrong with her . We went to a party at a play barn a week ago . Now usually Ava loves going to he play barn . Especially seeing all the children , she just loves to be around other kids . When we got there she seemed fine had slept quite a lot during the day but thought nothing much of it . So I put…

It may only be for 1 month but I’m in the top 500 in Tots100

Ahhh so I have made it into the top 500 in  the Tots 100 ranking . To many people this means nothing and to be honest up until a couple of months ago it didn’t really mean nothing to me . I know many bloggers have made the decision to leave the Tots100 rankings , but for me I use it as a guide . To see how I have been doing . I am one for setting myself goals . When I signed up to Tots I said to myself when I have been blogging a year I want to see my name in the top 500. Well 9…

So he actually asked me … we’re engaged

This time last week it was like any other Thursday or so I thought . No clue did I have that by the end of the day I would be engaged. Thursdays are always a busy day for me as I have to run around getting Ava sorted . Then take her to my moms and then go to uni which is nearly an hours drive . Whilst sitting at uni me and my friends were on the subject of weddings and engagements . To which I replied I have been with Jordan nearly 5 years now he is so laid back I don’t think it will happen any time soon…

Growing up in a world with Instagram filters

Times really have changed there were no such thing as Instagram filter when I was growing up. It wasn’t so long ago that I was a teenager experimenting with make up . Not that I was ever very good at it and I’m still not today . We would put some foundation on bit of blusher , mascara and maybe some eyeshadow or eyeliner if you were on a night out . Many teenagers now would be in shock if I asked them to wear as little makeup as I do . Is the Instagram filter to blame are our children seeing unrealistic things on the internet and are wanting to…

Why baby led weaning works for us

When I started to wean Ava I didn’t really have a plan of how I was going to do it . I wasn’t one of those moms that had recipe books for purées or made batches of frozen puréed food . I just went with the flow and it ended up with us doing baby led weaning. I did start Ava on some purées and porridge  at 4 months just because she was a hungry baby . She didn’t have something everyday to start with just every now and again . Once she was 6 months this is when I stared to be more adventurous . The Ella’s kitchen pouches where fab…

Christmas traditions what to do and where to start ?

This year it’s our first Christmas as a family and I’m really keen to start some Christmas traditions. Where do you start what ones are best !! I thought I would put it to my fellow bloggers to give me some inspiration on what traditions we could start . The one that came up the most was the Christmas Eve box and I love the idea of this . Packed full of little treats to get both yourself and your little ones excited . We do Christmas Eve boxes for the little ones – new pjs, new christmas dvd, hot chocolate and a Christmas book. Treat breakfast on Christmas Day and…

My brave mom and her mishap

You don’t realise how important someone is to you until something happens. Last weekend my mom fell over which resulted in her both dislocating and braking her ankle !! She never is one to do things by halves . 4 days later she has had an operation and is now back at home . In those four days I have felt completely lost and I never realised how much I depend on my mom . Not just for childcare but as a friend someone to talk to . As I  have Ava and Jordan works it’s been hard getting to visit her so I haven’t had much contact over the…

When I say honey you say G

You know what when Honey G first appeared on the x factor I thought this is hilarious but surely she won’t get past the auditions. Against all odds she has made it through to the live shows! And to be honest why shouldn’t she of.   Yes she may not be your typical x factor act or even your typical rapper, but you know what she is teaching kids it’s ok to have a go. A bloody good go as well. She has this passion for music and she isn’t listening to what the public are saying she is doing what she loves. I think we could all take a…
