    Why I’m stopping at two

Having children is bloody hard , even if your one of those carefree parents from time to time it’s got to be stressful. As soon as I had Alby I had people asking me if I was having anymore . This time I felt so different I knew I was done after two . I didn’t and still don’t now feel like I want any more children. I have found going from one to two harder than I expected. Ava still wants all the attention and finds it hard at times when she doesn’t get it. This normally results in a temper tantrum . Which I completely understand why she…

This is a collaborative post  When we first have a child. We tend to want to keep them indoors for a little while, as we recover from giving birth and allow them to get used to their home surroundings. But there’s nothing to say that you shouldn’t take a newborn outdoors. In fact, it is generally acknowledged that a short stroll can be good for both mom and baby! Then there are going to be all sorts of chores that you need to get done and people who you are going to want to visit as time goes by. So, here’s everything that you need to know about getting your baby…

So that’s it back to work for me

My first day back at work is done . If I’m honest it doesn’t feel like I have been away from the place . Some staff may have changed but it’s still the same place. I will say I’m one of those people who likes to go to work . Although my job is challenging I do really enjoy doing what I do. I really had that Sunday feeling yesterday it was so odd . As I hadn’t felt like it in such a long time. I can never sleep on a Sunday night when I’m at work the next day so I did wake a little tired today .…

10 things I’m going to make sure I do now I’m back at work

A week today i will be returning back to work . I finished Work for maternity leave at the end of November 2017. So I have had 9 lovely months of with the kids. In this time Ava has grown up so much she has gone from this little baby to a sassy girl. She has me crying with laugher she is just so funny. She has been such an amazing big sister to Alby giving him cuddles and kisses and in recent months playing with him. The last time I was at work I only had me and Ava to get out the house. I didn’t find it too…

Transitioning from a bedside crib to a cot

Since Alby has been born we have used the Knuma Huddle of a night time . It really has made the nights so much easier . I can honestly say I have had very few nights where I haven’t had a decent amount of sleep. If I need to see to him in the night it’s been easy as his right next to me. Sadly the time has come to convert the huddle from the bedside crib to the desk and chairs . I say sadly it’s kind of a bitter sweet. I’m looking forward to using it as a desk and bench but then I’m going to miss having…

Stars and Snuggles baby star travel wrap: Review

I don’t know about you but I’m really struggling with what clothes to put Alby in at the moment. One minute it’s brilliant sunshine the next it’s pouring with rain ! The one place I find the hardest to dress Alby for is when we’re going in the car . I’m always really conscious about what his wearing. As I want to make sure nothing is impacting the safety of his car seat like thick coats. Then recently I was contacted by the lovely people over at stars and snuggles . To see if we would like to try one of their baby star wraps which can be used in…

Eczema treatment during the summer months

The summer is here which means you’re getting hot and sweaty and putting sun cream on your skin. If you have eczema this can cause you some irritation. Ava can get really dry patches of eczema which can become really sore and bleed. I find it gets worse when she is hot. So with the weather being so nice, I’m making sure to take extra care of her skin and do additional things to prevent her skin from becoming sore. 1. Moisturise We use QV cream on Ava daily to make sure her skin isn’t dry and to keep onto of any area that may need some extra attention in…

How to potty train a toddler in two weeks

I think we have done it and it was so much easier than I thought it was going to be . In just under two weeks we have been able to potty train Ava . She hasn’t had a wet accident in over a week and whilst we have been potty training she has only had two wet accidents and no poo ones ! Thank the lord. This wasn’t our first time trying to potty train Ava . Just before Alby was born so Ava was nearly 2 . She was showing signs of wanting to potty train. She was doing really well whilst at home but we didn’t try…

Buying and selling a house is so stressful- the ups and downs

A few weeks ago on insta stories I told you that I had some exciting news but I wasn’t ready to tell everyone yet . As I didn’t want to jinx it . Well I could have told you because it all went downhill. Just under a month ago we sold our house we were so excited and straight away got looking for a house to buy . Both my parents and Jordan’s mom had said if we needed a stop-gap we were more than welcome to spread ourselves between them so we didn’t lose the sale of the house. Plus if we timed it all well we would

Why we made the difficult decission to rehome our family dog

It is with the saddest of hearts that I’m writing this post. We have made the decision to rehome our dog Kya. Not because she has done anything wrong but because we cannot give her all that she needs. Now it may look like we have given up and taken the easy route out but I can assure you we haven’t. We got Kya when she was a tiny little pup shortly after we lost our first dog Milo. She instantly filled our life with joy she is such a bouncy happy dog. Then we found out we were pregnant with Ava we knew that Kya wasn’t going anywhere. Many…

Marigold try me free campaign including a speed cleaning video

*This is a collaborative post* When I think of the brand Marigold. I think of yellow rubber gloves like the ones that Kim and Aggie used to wear on telly. Well theirs weren’t just yellow ones were they. They had all decorative things attached to them .Sorry I digress there I am talking about telly programs again ! I do really need to get out more. So yes what I was going to say is that I was so surprised to learn that they did so much more than just rubber gloves. As a person who actually quite likes cleaning once I get into it. It was an exciting thing…

Why we decided to wean before 6 months

At the moment the NHS advise that you wean babies from 6 months. Which is fine for those babies that are just not interested in food. Alby isn’t one of those babies. From around 4 months I started to notice that he was getting really fussy in the mornings and on a night-time. I would try to give him a bottle and he would have non of it. I started to wonder if he was having a bit of colic or something. Then one night at tea time he was beside himself. I couldn’t help but think should I wean before 6 months? He sits in the high chair whilst…

Keeping the costs down when having children

*This is a collaborative post* I have noticed more since having two children that it can be so expensive . They are always needing something be it shoes for Ava or new clothes for the both of them.  That’s not even taking into the account the amount of food and milk we get through I have tried to be a little bit more savvy with my money since Alby came along . I still want them to have what ever it is they need but I am finding other ways to get them at a discount price . So I thought I would share with you some of the ways…

    2 super simple snake crafts

Welcome to our next Bostik bloggers post. If this is the first time you have seen our Bostik crafts post why not take a look at what we did last month. Each month we are given a theme to which to create a craft around this months theme is animals. Our super simple snake crafts have been inspired by two things this month. The first being a snake we have seen recently whilst going around the “free zoo” at the garden centre. Ava was amazed by this snake and since then she has really started to take an interest in them. The second inspiration was from Ava’s two year check.…
