    World Asthma day 2018

Asthma it’s one of those things unless you know someone who suffers with it you don’t understand it . I say fairly often yes I had asthma as a child. The truth is I cannot really remember what it was like. I was hospitalised with it when I was younger . So it must have been pretty bad.The thing is you never stop having Asthma you just learn how to deal with it and know when an attack may happen. I do find that when I’m poorly with a cold or something similar. My chest becomes tight and I have had to have an inhaler in the past due to…

This is a collaborative post with Basic Invite  You may have seen 2 years ago I graduated from university. It was lots of hard work but so worth it. Whilst completing my foundation degree I was pregnant and had a new baby to look after. I then went back in September 2016 to top up my foundation degree to a full degree. Me being me cannot just do one thing at a time I got pregnant again . I did it thought I completed my top up and my graduation is in July. I’m not going to go sadly as I don’t have the childcare and taking two kids with…

Our first time swimming and my first time in a swimming costume since having children

Last week we took Ava swimming for the first time . We have been wanting to take her for a long time but for one reason or another we haven’t been able to. I was a little apprehensive about taking her swimming not because of Ava . Because it would be the first time since having children that I have worn a swimming costumes. To make myself feel a little bit more confident about wearing a swimming costume. I brought myself a new one . One of those ones that sucks you in . Also I didn’t want to try to squeeze in one of my pre children costumes .…

A bedtime routine is so important for children to have a good nights sleep

When I found out I was pregnant with Alby I knew I needed to get Ava’s sleeping sorted . The only way she would sleep the whole night was if she was in bed with me and Jordan . Which to start with was fine . I really enjoyed co-sleeping . Then she started to wriggle more in bed . Which meant I either ended up with her foot in my ribs or an arm on my face . Being pregnant I needed my sleep more than ever. So we made it our mission to get a good bedtime routine. We have always done bath, bottle bed since Ava was…

My body confidence is at an all time low – A mom of two kids

My body confidence is at an all time low. I have never been one to completely love my body. But having two kids has really made me not like the way I look at all. I look down and I don’t see anything I like. I’m not saying I’m overweight I’m just not happy with how I look. I see so many moms over social media totally embracing and loving their new bodies. This can just make you feel worse. I’m not on about size 6 moms that snapped back into shape after two weeks of having a baby. Just your average mom that just loves their body. I just…

Nap time is now non existent .This means toddler tears and tantrums

When I was pregnant I dreamt of having two children having naps at the same time . Maybe an hour a day where I could have some peace and watch rubbish telly . Or even have a nap myself. How silly I was to think like this ! Before Alby came along Ava would have a good hour nap some days she would stretch it to two hours . It was blissful it didn’t happen every day but when it did I loved it . Then just like that she stopped . It was as if someone had turned a switch off inside of her . One which I wished…

Blog birthday: 2 years on what have I learned and what have I achieved

Wow well I wasn’t sure this day was going to come if I’m honest. I started my blog as many of you may know when I was on maternity leave with Ava.She was only a few weeks old and already I was staring to feel lonely and if I’m honest bored of being at home on my own. It wasn’t till I met up with Faye from Glossytots that I first learnt what a blog was really. So I owe it all to Faye really the reason to why this blog actually started. She whatsapped me step by step instructions of how to set up a blog on Blogger. What…

Please stay a baby for longer, i wont rush you to grow up i promise

I remember when Ava was little I couldn’t wait for her to reach the next milestone . Be it rolling , walking or weaning . When it comes to Alby I want him to stay a baby for ever . Well not for ever but you know what I mean. When we had Ava we knew we wanted another baby. Now I have had another baby I know I don’t want anymore . I’m so lucky to have two children it makes our family complete . I just don’t see us having anymore. Hence the reason I want Alby to stay younger for longer . I want to make the…

Treat yourself and your skin to Templespa

Now I’m rubbish at looking after my skin. I throw on some makeup in the morning and then wash what ever is left off with a baby wipe before I go to bed. For as long as I can remember I have felt self-conscious about my skin. At times i can have bad break outs and most of the time I have black heads . That’s not to mention the massive black bags I have under my eyes. This isn’t all because of children I have had these dark circles for as long as I can remember. Recently I have been feeling a little down about my skin . Thankfully…

What to pack in your hospital bag if you have a caesarean

Now with both Ava and Alby I didn’t know I was going to have a caesarean so I didn’t really pack all the things I needed. When you are having a Caesarean the things you need afterwards maybe a little different. So if I was to do it all again I would make sure I packed my bag just in case I ended up having a C section. ( By the way no more babies are in the future two is more than enough for me!). It doesn’t have to be a bag you take with you right away but a bag that your other half can pick up when…

    Valentines gift guide

Now me and Jordan don’t really do Valentines day, were not ones to buy a cute teddy with our faces on. That’s just not us and it never has been. The more and more I talk to people about Valentines day the more I realise people do actually celebrate it. Which if I’m honest really surprised me. The thing I did notice when talking to people was that they weren’t really buying the cute gifts that we may associate with Valentines day. It more things like a nice bubble bath to have a kid free bath. Or treats to eat that the kids are not allowed to know exists otherwise…

Adding some colour to your garden during the winter months

We have recently put our house up for sale. So we did a few jobs in the house that needed doing to make it look more appealing to potential buyers. This didn’t really consist of much a lick of paint here and there. After doing the inside of the house we looked at the garden and thought it really wasn’t up to scratch. We haven’t really done much to our garden whilst we have lived here. What plants we did plant in the summer are now dead and don’t add anything to the garden. Thankfully I came across this handy little guide from Sloane & Sons which highlighted easy ways…

Doing little but often really takes the stress off

Having a baby really does turn you world upside down . Even if it isn’t your first child . They come into your life and before you know it you’re in the blur of baby days . The washing baskets are overflowing the kitchen needs a good clean and you cannot remember the last time you properly cleaned the bathroom . Being quite a clean and tidy person those early days I found quite hard . As I had a c section I could see things that needed doing but I couldn’t do them. I’m not one to take help neither I like to do it all myself . Also…

Boy maternity leave is so different the second time around

    When I was on maternity leave with Ava looking back now it was so easy. I had one child to sort. Once she was happy and content I could do what I needed to do. My ironing was done as I used to do it when she was asleep.The house was tidy and I even may have had a cheeky little nap. This time around it’s not like that at all .I’m ;

Today she turns two where has the time gone !

I cannot believe it but today Ava will turn 2 . How did that happen ? I’m sure she was only a baby yesterday. It really is crazy how quick it goes. I’m not sure I’m ready for her to grow up just yet . I want to hold her close and not let her go . I know she’s not going anywhere as she is only two but it really gets me thinking about the future . Like what school she will be going to and what clubs she might want to join. It really makes me sad that my little girl is not so little anymore . You…

How did i do with my blogging 2017 goals and goals for the year ahead

When I look back on my goals for 2017 I think I was being a little optimistic , I don’t think I took into account that I was returning to work. which meant I would have less time to post to my blog and social media channels. I definitely didn’t expect to be pregnant again and I had times in my pregnancy. Especially the early days where the thought of getting on the laptop and writing a blog post was just too much to contend with. Although I didn’t reach a lot of my goals I am happy with where my blog is at. Yes it may not be the…

    My blogging journey through 2017

This is the first full year that I have been blogging and boy it’s been an interesting one. I have learnt so much more and worked with some amazing brands. I think one of the biggest things I have learnt is not to compare yourself to anyone else. Being apart of blogging Facebook groups has both its benefits and its draw backs. I am apart of one specific group who I can go to for support with anything blogging related or even just to have a moan about things that are going on . This is the group I love and can be me in. But then there are groups…

Being a second time mom how am i finding it- the early days

Its been two week now since I had Alby and things have changed so much. Ava for nearly the last two years has been my world. Everything revolved around her. We are best mates and she has always been my little shadow which I love. Then came along Alby. Her only being little has both its benefits and draw backs. I mean she doesn’t really know what’s happened. For her she has had some lovely days out with nanny and Grandad whilst I was in hospital . But then she has now got to share everyone which Is something she really isn’t used to. Ava is the only little one…

My caesarean recovery : the second time around

You may have seen not so long ago I had an emergency caesarean. Along with this I also had a very painful abscess lanced so I am currently over coming two different operations. Let me just start by saying I’m really not one to take any pain killers I would rather sleep it off. Or carry on with life and just hope that the pain will go away. First of all lets talk about my caesarean recovery .As that’s probably the nicer one of the two to talk about. People will tell you all sorts of horror stories about caesarean that you are in so much pain afterwards and that…
