What do i need from a holiday now im a parent ?
This is a collaborative post The last time I went on holiday was over 5 years ago now and was for my 21st birthday. Me and Jordan went to Zante in Greece. It was partially alcohol fuelled but we did have a good chill out too. I long for a holiday I need some sun on my skin. I know that my holidays are going to be different now I have kids. A holiday is a holiday right ! It wont be for a while. As the thought of taking a new-born aboard makes me want to cry. But it will happen I can tell you that for sure. There…

Collecting stem cells at birth what’s it all about ?
The video in this post was provided by Smart Cells and Netmums Being pregnant and a parent I’m always looking at new things that are available. Or that may be available in the future to help benefit my children . I have recently been introduced to the idea of collecting stem cells at birth. This is something I didn’t know too much about .The more and more I read about it the more it interests me. You may be thinking what the hell are stem cells ? Stem cells have the potential to develop into a ;

Toddlers learn the most annoying things
There are many things that toddlers learn and you think gosh that’s adorable . But most things make you think god I wish they would just be quite. We are having at the moment no to everything even if she actually means yes . So in a morning I will give her the option of different breakfast items .To which she says no to every single one so I put them back. This then turns into the worlds biggest breakdown throwing herself on the floor , running away screaming . Then when she finally calms down she comes to the cupboard and picks exactly what I was trying to give…

Last week at work until my maternity leave
I cannot believe that this time next week i will be finishing work to start my maternity leave . This time around I haven’t been so excited shall we say to finish . I’m not sure if it’s the thought of being at home with two kids or the fact that I feel like I was just getting back into work . I only returned back to work in January of this year after taking over 12 months off with Ava. I went back to work to a whole new position. So I feel I have been ;

Is your car ready for long journeys ?
This is a collaborative post Before having kids I didn’t really think about if my car was ‘healthy’ , I very regularly used to play the red light game with the petrol gage. Now I have kids I have to be a bit more smarter about my car I need to look after it. As a life as a parent without a car and living where I live just fills me with horror. As I wouldn’t be able to get out the house and I would have to deal with a toddler bouncing off the walls all day. I regularly check a lot of things on my car after I broke…

Today I wrote my birth plan let’s hope it all goes to plan.
When I was pregnant with Ava I did a birth plan like you do with every pregnancy . But there really wasn’t any point to writing it as nothing I wanted happened due to having an emergency c section . As I like to put it all my birth plans just went out the window. So when I was told today that I was going to write my birth plan with my midwife. I really just thought what is the point in this . I think because of my birth with Ava I’m just don’t think this one will be easy and that saddens me . I would love to…

Christmas gift guide : something special for the kids
Finding the right gift for your kids is no easy job . Last year we did a children’s gift guide to help you which we had some great feedback from. So we thought we would do another one this year in the hope to help make Christmas a little easier. Now these are gifts with a different perhaps not in the top 100 toys for Christmas but still they are great gifts. Design your own bird feeder Now I always find that arts and crafts stuff is always a winner. Even better when there is something lovely to keep at the end of it all. This design your own bird…

Treat your dog this Christmas with some Webbox treats
Christmas is a time of year when gifts are exchanged but make sure you don’t forget the dog . We have been a bit rubbish the last couple of years with remembering the dog . Mainly due to me being very heavily pregnant and then having a nearly 1-year-old to contend with . So this year thanks to Webbox Kya is being well and truly spoilt.

My pregnancy at 34 weeks
I’m 34 weeks today and have been to the hospital for a scan . So it only seemed right that I did a little update about how things have been going on . I haven’t been doing these every week as one my pregnancy isn’t that eventful and two who wants to read every week that I’m tired and just want to have had him now. So today we went to the hospital for a scan . Now normally you don’t have another scan after 20 weeks unless there is a problem or some complications. I was asked to return to the hospital to have another scan due to my…

A whole lot of pumpkin fun
You may have seen last week we visited a pick your own pumpkin farm . We did this last year with Ava but as she wasn’t even one yet she didn’t really care too much for It . This year she was loving it running up and down the pumpkin field. Touching the different pumpkins mainly saying they were yack ! But she did have a great time and we got some awesome picture that I’m sure we will treasure for years to come. Now I have to be honest I’m not the biggest fan of carving pumpkins mainly because of the smell. But in life we have to do…

Hoo Farm Animal kingdom the home of Shropshire’s big cats : review
Hoo farm holds a special place in my heart. I have such fond memories of going there when I was a child . Me and my brother used to go with my mom’s friend and her daughters who are now in their late teens !! I remember going around lambing season and feeding the lambs and holding baby chicks. There is a picture somewhere of me with a chick on my head .If i ever come across it I will show it you all . So when I had a child I knew I had to take them to Hoo Farm. I just so hoped that It hadn’t changed from…

I need my own little work space that isnt my lap
This is a collaborative post Since starting to blog more often I have found that I really need a work space. Somewhere to keep all my things together, to have to do lists kept in one place. Somewhere that’s not my bed or the sofa. Somewhere I can sit pretty comfortably and get on with things. My main time to blog is when Ava is in bed so I find myself sitting on my bed laptop on tapping away and listening in on Ava to check she is asleep. This was okay for a while but the more pregnant I get the harder this is becoming. I need some nice…

What to put in your hospital bag
As I said in a post the other day I’m really not organised at all for this baby to come, I haven’t even thought about my hospital bag. In fact writing the post made me realise how laid back about it all I am being this time. Also it was nice to see from comments that I’m not the only one that is laid back to second time around. I think I’m starting to struggle with not being organised as I’m normally ultra organised. So I thought it was about time I made a list of things I needed to get for my hospital bag. Even though it wasn’t that…

Why am i not organised the second time around ?
II really need to start getting organised for baby number 2. I think at this point with Ava 31 weeks pregnant .I had brought the whole of next baby department, ticked of lists of essential products that we needed, and more than likely packed my hospital bags. This time around we have decorated his room and he has enough clothes to last him a week maybe. The beautiful organised room that was on Instagram the other week is now been transformed into toy storage. As it has all of Ava’s Christmas presents in there.including a fan that really needs to go to the tip but that’s a lot of effort.…

We took part in the Chilean Easy peelers challenge #ChileanEasyPeelers
I don’t know about you but we have found since Ava hit about 18 months of age she has become more fussy with her foods. She was always really good up until then she would try anything and polish of most meals within minutes. Then she learnt to show preference for things and now refuses quite a lot of foods and would quite happily live on a diet of wotsits and yoghurt. Not that I let her. The other problem we face is that she is so independent she doesn’t want you to do anything for her. Which 9/10 is great at meal times as it allows me time to…

Magicube by Geomag review and giveaway
I’m always on the look out for new and exciting toys to entertain Ava with. At the moment she is loving animals so when we were offered the Magicube safari and polar animal set to review I knew they would be a winner. It even keeps grandparents entertained which is a bonus. My dad sent me this picture just moments after me leaving him and Ava to explore the Magicubes. As soon as Ava got the box’s out she was excited the bright and vibrant packaging is really inviting. In fact I had to put one aside so she could just look at the one set .unlike most toys…

How we found Ecover Non-Bio Laundry detergant #EcoverLaundry challange
Washing it’s the bain of my life and if I’m being completely honest I am rubbish at it. Only recently I have looked at Ava’s white vests and though gosh they look horrid. Not because they were too small, But because I am being lazy and not separating my colours. For ease I would just throw everything into the same wash and hope for the best ! Well I have recently changed this because I was a little embarrassed to put her in some of the vests to go to nursery because what should be a white vest is now a horrid grey/blue colour. So now I have one washing…
