To keep my house smelling lovely over the Christmas period pick n melt have sent me a lovely selection of wax melts to try . My first impression of the wax melts was that I didn’t think they would give of much fragrance as they were so small . Gosh was I wrong the instructions suggested to use 6 cubes and the smell from them was amazing . The first flavour  I tried was snow and I loved it . I used my wax melt after cooking .Within a few minutes the smell…

Growing up in a world with Instagram filters

Times really have changed there were no such thing as Instagram filter when I was growing up. It wasn’t so long ago that I was a teenager experimenting with make up . Not that I was ever very good at it and I’m still not today . We would put some foundation on bit of blusher , mascara and maybe some eyeshadow or eyeliner if you were on a night out . Many teenagers now would be in shock if I asked them to wear as little makeup as I do . Is the Instagram filter to blame are our children seeing unrealistic things on the internet and are wanting to…

Why baby led weaning works for us

When I started to wean Ava I didn’t really have a plan of how I was going to do it . I wasn’t one of those moms that had recipe books for purées or made batches of frozen puréed food . I just went with the flow and it ended up with us doing baby led weaning. I did start Ava on some purées and porridge  at 4 months just because she was a hungry baby . She didn’t have something everyday to start with just every now and again . Once she was 6 months this is when I stared to be more adventurous . The Ella’s kitchen pouches where fab…

Duvets for keeping warm and snuggled this winter

This is a collaborative post with Yorkshire linen The winter is now upon us and its only going to get colder. I love this time of the year everything looks so pretty covered in frost in the mornings and dark winter nights snuggled up in front of the telly. There is nothing better then at the end of a long day to get in your pj’s grab a big thick blanket and watch rubbish on telly. In the winter there always seems to be something on the telly that grabs my interest, but then I am one of those serial reality TV viewers. Getting into a nice warm bed , is…

Recently I was approached by the people over at JORD watches to see if I would like to review one of their unique wooden timepieces . Straight away Jordan really liked the range of watches they had on offer and joked about having one for himself as his name is Jordan. So being a nice girlfriend and to claim some brownie points I let him choose a watch to review.   After much deliberation he chose the Dover in Ebony and Copper.
