I’m Amy from Eps and Amy blog site, , we run a family and life style blog. Epril (Eps) is from the Philippines so we have an interesting duel culture perspective in our articles. I have two children, a girl aged 8 and a boy aged 5. Both of my kids were terrible sleepers as babies and didn’t sleep through the night until well over 2. We tried everything: night light, star gazer lights, music, cuddlies, co-sleeping…nothing…

I’m a young mom not a frumpy mom , trying to find clothes that fit.

Since having Ava I find it really hard to find clothes that both fit and that I like . Without knowing my wardrobe has turned into a really mommy wardrobe . Everything is practical and easy to wash and really doesn’t do a lot for my figure . I very rarely go shopping now for clothes as I find the experience horrid . Battling through isles of clothes with a pushchair is not fun at all . They really need to look at the design of clothes shops . Also nothing fits this new mommy body of mine . It wasn’t until I was asked to go out the other…

Trying to make my lunch healthier with Grabits

In just over two weeks I will be returning to work after over a year off on maternity leave . Where that time has gone I don’t know . In order to save some money and also be healthier I have been on the look out for things to take to work with me for lunch  . Recently the lovely people over at Grabits offered me some of their chicken snacks to try . Before I left for maternity I was always rubbish with my lunch . I would normally forget to sort anything out and grab quick and unhealthy options out of the cupboards at home . Or spend…

Don’t feel bad that you don’t breast feed your child .

Recently over Facebook you make have seen many pictures of women breast feeding their children with an overlay image of a tree. Symbolising the connection between mother and baby through breastfeeding .The roots of the trees being symbolic of the breast milk ducts  . To raise awareness  of breast feeding is fab but as a mom who doesn’t  breast feed it’s making me slightly annoyed . We made the decision to bottle feed Ava as it was the best thing for myself and Ava . I didn’t want to breastfeed . I didn’t want to make myself do it just because some people think I should. I myself was bottle…

Finding Dory , the book of the film from Parragon books: Review

Finding Dory is the second instalment in the finding Nemo series. The first film finding Nemo is a much loved favourite of mine . Its one of those films you can put on ,on a lazy Sunday and the whole family will love it. This year they released finding Dory just like finding Nemo the film was both action packed and full of funny moments . I think a lot of the characters in the film you can liken them to people you may know. It really is a film full of laugh of loud moments perfect for the whole family to enjoy over and over again. When Parragon books asked me if I would like to review…

why is sensory play so important for babies ?

Sensory play is so important for little ones development it’s how they learn about the world around them. You are more than likely doing sensory play at home and not really realising. Using simple things like tin foil or shakers are a really good sensory experiences for children. Sensory play doesn’t always have to be messy its play that involves all the senses Touch, taste, smell, sight, sounds. We have done lots of sensory exploration with Ava since she was a very young age. When she was around 3 months old I took her to our first sensory class at our local craft centre. Which she absolutely loved and her art…

Encouraging Kids To Lose Weight Means Practicising What You Preach

This is a collaborative post looking into childhood obesity. When it comes to childhood obesity most experts are in agreement: the problem will only be dealt with by parents changing the environment in the home. Writing in the medical journal, Circulation, Myles Faith, a nutrition professor at the University of North Carolina, says that families themselves are the most effective agents when it comes to action on obesity, not the government. In his opinion, it’s parents who hold the keys to dealing with our current epidemic of childhood obesity in the West. Faith has the following advice for parents, stuck on how to raise their kids to be lean and…

Not just one but four new teeth

It’s been a long week in our house . Ava hasn’t been well so this has made her ultra clingy and moaning a lot . I thought it could be her teeth but wasn’t sure. To start with I really wasn’t sure what was wrong with her . We went to a party at a play barn a week ago . Now usually Ava loves going to he play barn . Especially seeing all the children , she just loves to be around other kids . When we got there she seemed fine had slept quite a lot during the day but thought nothing much of it . So I put…

When I signed up to Tots I said to myself when I have been blogging a year I want to see my name in the top 500. Well 9…

This time last week it was like any other Thursday or so I thought . No clue did I have that by the end of the day I would be engaged. Whilst sitting at uni me and my friends were on the subject of weddings and engagements .
