Tips and tricks for getting stains out of your children’s clothes

Since being a parent I have learnt so much  one thing being I’m rubbish at getting stains out of clothes !. Both me and Jordan very rarely  wear light coloured clothing and don’t really get stains on our clothes . So since becoming a mom and having to clean all sorts of things out of Ava’s clothes . I have realised I’m not that good at getting them stain free . I have even been known to just throw her vests away as I know I won’t be able to do it !( very wasteful I know !) So after spending nearly an hour last night trying to get some stains…

How to organise and tackle the housework

Recently I have become a little bit slack with the housework . Having so much on it’s hard to get it all done . Don’t get me wrong the house isn’t filthy. Just not as clean and tidy as I would like . The other day I had organised for my mom to have Ava so I could catch up on things .  Not just cleaning but my uni work . As this is taking a bit of a back seat as well . The though of having a whole day cleaning made me sad . I get a child free day and I’m cleaning ! What am I playing…

The things you do when your parents

So as I’m lying in my daughters cot trying to get her to sleep: I started to think about all the things us parents do . That people without children may think are totally bonkers, and to be honest they would probably be right for think that . Sleep time can be a right nightmare and you will do anything for them to sleep . Even if it does mean getting in to the cot . Then comes the ninja moves to try an get out without waking them up. All parents have done the army crawl along the floor once they are asleep. Just incase they wake up they won’t…

My first half  term at uni – advance child development

So I am at the end of my first half term back at uni and it’s been pretty full on . This time it’s a lot harder to fit in time to do my work as I have a child that moves and demands things . Or just likes to play on the laptop !. So my first term back we have looked at advance child development. This is a subject I find really interesting even more so now I have Ava . As geeky as it may sound I love researching into the history of child development . Looking at why we do the things we do in childcare…

creating a bright Future for our children

This post is an entry for BritMums #brightFuture Challenge, sponsored by Unilever Before having Ava I didn’t really think much about the future let alone a bright future. I would take each day as it came. Ava came along and all I do is think about the future what school she will go to, where we will be living .Most importantly what will the world be like for her when she is older. I want her to grow up happy , healthy and successful in what ever she choses to do. I have started to think about the little changes that I can make in my day-to-day life. To help the…

    Parenting with Anne Robinson #annerobinsonsbritan

Wow watching Anne Robinson’s Britain last night made me feel so good about myself . She was looking at parenting and all the different styles there are.She opened the program with the statement Your all striving for an impossible goal to be perfect mothers . That’s where it has all gone pair shaped. There is no such things as a perfect mother ! Thank god ! I will stop striving to be this perfect mother and just be mom. Like one of the moms said on a scale of 1-10 sometimes I’m a 10 sometimes I’m a 2. It just depends on the situation ( love this !! ) She…

I put it out there for you guys to pick what topics you would love to know about . This could be about anything advice if I can give It or just a certain conformation your not the only one going through something . The lovely Naomi from me becoming mom asked about sleeping or the lack of . So here it goes When Ava was little she was such a good sleeper . Going 4 hours in the night . I didn’t have that new mom tiredness . If I’m honest I probably slept better than I did in the later stages of my pregnancy .   As Ava got…

It can be so overwhelming having a new arrival .

    It becomes overwhelming very quickly , I can remember even before Ava arrived the Amount of texts I got each day asking if she was here . This did really start to get me down because the answer was always the same NO!. I did have to say to some people I will let them know when she comes . As the ;

For the last time she’s a girl !

Now I’m starting to get a little annoyed by the amount of people referring to Ava as a boy . Surely if you don’t know the child and it’s not obvious then don’t refer to their sex . Personally I think Ava looks like a girl . I think she has really feminine features . So it really annoys me when people say ” what a cute little boy “. I have even gone to the extreme of dressing her in very gender specific colour in order to stop this gender confusion . Did this help ? Did it boat . The other day she was dressed all in pink and a…

What a day , can I go to bed now !

Well my day started off really nicely . Me and mom took Ava to Bridgnorth where we looked in some shop ,had a coffee. Then I booked myself a hair appointment (little happy dance ) . We then went back to my moms had some lunch and a natter . All was good . Then it all changed I left my moms to go and get petrol before going home and this is when my day turned into shit . After leaving the petrol station an error message came on my dash and it suggested that I pulled over . Instantly I thought shit did I put diesel in .…

I’m going to do it : back to university

As some of you may have read previously. During the summer I graduated from my foundation year of university . I still cannot believe that I actually graduated. It wasn’t an easy ride with being both pregnant and then having a newborn , but I did it ! ( pats self on back ) During the summer I then had to  decide if I wanted to go back and complete my last year. All different thoughts were running through my mind . The main one being can I do this !. This time round I have a child on the move that can sense when I’m getting my laptop out…

    The Mummy Tag

I was recently tagged in a mummy tag from Angela over at Days in Bed.  Thank you Angela I have never taken part in a post like this. I am really excited to see what the questions may be. Are you a woking mom or a stay at home mom ? I am currently on Maternity leave and not due back to work until January. Before going on maternity leave I was a manager of a nursery for children aged between 2-4 years. Would you have it any other way ? I am loving having my time off with Ava being able to watch her grow and develop. I am looking…

Beautiful personalised designs by Daydreams and Ice creams

Recently I have been looking at lots of people blogs and thinking mine just doesn’t look as Pretty . I had a header that I had designed myself on Canva , in an attempt to make it look better . It settled my feelings of doubt about how my blog was looking for a while. Not before long the feeling came back and I started on the look out for some professional help. I had been looking on places like Esty and Fiverr but really wasn’t taken aback by anything. Then I remembered I had been following this company on Instagram that do beautiful personalised artwork. Looking through their Facebook page I couldn’t see if she had done…

No!!! my maternity leave is nearly over

I remember thinking this time last year ,only so many weeks until I finish work to start my maternity leave. I had all these plans in my mind of what I was going to do whilst on maternity leave. Ultimately I was worried I would be bored and not know what to do with my time. How wrong I was since I have been able to drive again we haven’t stopped . Be it seeing friends, going to classes or just going out to get some fresh air. I wanted to make sure that I didn’t take my maternity leave for granted. I think I have done pretty well , we…

Is it ever ok to leave your child in the car ?

When you’re not a parent you take so many things for granted . It not that your selfish it just because you don’t realise that they can become more complicated once you have had children. This can be day-to-day things like going to the toilet by yourself to being able to leave the house at the drop of a hat . Recently I have  come across another thing I took completely for granted and it has seriously made me think about how I should respond to it . I have now been a mommy for 9 months and I have come across the situation of is it ok to leave your…

I went down told her to be quite and went back up to bed . Before I go on I should explain that Kya is still in a crate . She has been since we first had her . Anyway as I was saying I went back to bed . Then of course Ava woke up just as I started to give her some milk Kya…

discrimination towards women in the workplace

You may have seen on the news over the past few days that discrimination towards both pregnant women and new moms is on the rise . Over the past decade it has been found that around 54,000 new mothers were forced to leave their jobs . With 1 in 10 of them being treated very poorly , dismissed or singled out for redundancy  . To take this case to a tribunal it would cost them around £1200 . MP’s are saying this is too high and needs to be lowered !. Personally I think this shouldn’t be happening at all . It shouldn’t come to the point that you have…
