Here you will find blog posts about everyday life of being a parent. The ups and the downs. Times things went well and I wanted to share them with you all and the times when I was near rock bottom and needed to share it with someone. These blog post are like a form of therapy for me I write what ever I'm thinking about at the time. In the hope that someone has felt the same and can tell me it's going to be okay. Or if you land on my page at 3 o'clock in the morning after the 5th hour of being awake with your little one. You will be able to see that were all in the same boat. It really is true no two pregnancies are the same
As you may have seen the other day I announced I was pregnant with our second baby. This time around it’s been so hard to hide from everyone for two reasons. Reason one I have been feeling terrible, I have been sick most days and not just In the morning ! Who ever named it morning sickness never actually experienced it . I mean some days from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed I’m being sick . Which is great when you have a toddler trying to put the toilet seat down on your head whilst your being sick . Student , worker, blogger, mom when do I get time for me
I know many parents feel the same but I literally feel like I have no time for myself . My life is so full with other stuff that my me time is when I’m asleep . Don’t get me wrong I’m now enjoying sleep but I just wish someone could add a few more hours into my day. I’m in my last year at uni and you may say one of the most intense years . Dam you Illness I’m covered in Poo, snot and sick
This bank holiday weekend hasn’t been the one I hoped it would be . I have visions of having some lovely family time going to the park . Just generally having a nice time. West Midlands safari park drive through safari
Today we went to West Midlands safari park . I think Ava knew we were going somewhere exciting as she decided for the first time in weeks to play up last night. I think I managed 3 hours of solid sleep . A couple of weeks ago I would have been winning at life getting 3 hours , but for the last couple of weeks she has been sleeping through . I love the summer time , feeling the sun on your skin makes everything feel a lot better . There really is something about the summer time that just makes life more bearable. Why i have chosen to monitise my blog
When I first started blogging I didn’t know that people make a full-time wage doing it. It wasn’t until I started to interact more with the blogging community that I realised people actually monitise their blogs .To be honest I never thought anyone would ever want to pay me to write for them or review items on my blog. Now I don’t make a full-time wage at all . Most months I don’t even make a part-time wage but I have extra money . We did Mother’s Day a day early
Today we celebrated Mother’s Day . One of the main reasons for this is because restaurants place a hefty price tag on meals just because it’s Mother’s Day . Yes you may be able to take the mom along for free but then the other meals cost more than they normally would ! Why would I want to go to a restaurant and spend £20 more just because it’s Mother’s Day . I would rather go the day before and have the same meal and save some money ! My real thoughts about my Caesarean when I had Ava
This might sound really stupid but I was gutted i didn’t give birth to my daughter naturally .I had this image of how things would go and having a Caesarean wasn’t it . So i made a year ! my blog is now one
I started my blog when I was on maternity leave as a space for me to get back to being me. I was stuck in a rut and was missing the pressure of work. Now this may sound really stupid but I really do like going to work. I thrive off having goals to achieve. Also in the job I am in I help children achieve the best that they can and that is so fulfilling. Updating your wardrobe on a budget
Do you ever look in your wardrobe and think I really could do with buying some new clothes. Or just simply fed up of wearing the same thing day in day out. One of my blogging goals for 2017 is to attend a blogging conference . To be honest I didn’t think I was going to complete this goal . Usborne take on a classic- Beauty and the beast : Review and Giveaway
Ever since Ava was really little I have read stories to her. She has enough books already to open up a small library, I cannot help myself when I see a children’s book I have to get it for her. A little bit of what she likes isn’t harming Ava
Since Ava started to wean I have pretty much let her have what ever she wanted . She has even been known to have her pudding before her main meal ( bad mommy I know !) Organix Goodies helping parents to make lunch box’s more exciting
Every Thursday Ava goes to my mom and dad’s house as I go to university. This means I have to pack her a packed lunch to take with her. This is a subject I have such strong feeling towards, testing our children is it really needed. Do we really need to introduce the PISA preschool tests ? Why can children not just be children anymore. In education we are too obsessed with where they are in regards to “norms”. Parents are sending children to an educational setting from a younger age . Transiting to part time work after maternity leave.
In the last couple of weeks I have returned to work part time . This is a completely new world to me . Since I was 16 I have worked around 30 hours a week so going part time is really odd. Do we need to teach our children to share all the time ?
Yesterday I went to play group with Ava and I was watching some of the other parents and children interacting. The amount of times I heard parents say you need to share was untrue, but do children need to share all the time. From a young age we as parents try to install certain traits that society deems as acceptable. The main one is that we should share with others.
