Why it’s important to teach our children road safety
This is a sponsored post You may have seen that recently I returned to work . So three days a week I’m going to and from work where I pass by many schools . I have been surprised by the amount of children that aren’t being safe by the roads. I think we need to do more to educate them about road safety and why it’s so important. The thing we all need to remember is that children learn a lot by watching what we do. This is the same with road safety . On a few occasions I have seen adults with children crossing the roads when it’s not…

Using B-sensible sheets when taking away the night time nappy with my toddler
A couple of months ago now we started potty training with Ava. It has gone so well. I think in the last two months we have only had maybe 2 accidents. I started to notice that her night-time nappies were dry when she woke up in the morning. She also started to ask for a wee as soon as she woke in the morning. So I started to think about not using a nappy on a night-time. The lovely people over a B-sensible have sent us a waterproof fitted sheet and two waterproof pillow cases to try . I’m going to be honest when they said waterproof bedding all I…

So that’s it back to work for me
My first day back at work is done . If I’m honest it doesn’t feel like I have been away from the place . Some staff may have changed but it’s still the same place. I will say I’m one of those people who likes to go to work . Although my job is challenging I do really enjoy doing what I do. I really had that Sunday feeling yesterday it was so odd . As I hadn’t felt like it in such a long time. I can never sleep on a Sunday night when I’m at work the next day so I did wake a little tired today .…

Muffin Sisters Blue Minky Dot African baby blanket and pillow set :Review
We have recently been sent a beautiful blanket and pillow set from the Muffin Sisters for Alby to try. Now Alby is a funny one with blankets .When his in his cot all he likes to have is a muslin cloth . This has become his comfort item which is rather cute . If you’re a regular reader you may have seen that Alby likes to take naps on the floor . Don’t ask me why but he gets so comfy on the floor . He loves nothing more than being snuggled up in a big blanket when he has naps. He even sometimes takes Ava’s bunny if she’s not watching.…

In this time Ava has grown up so much she has gone from this little baby to a sassy girl. She has me crying with laugher she is just so funny. She has been such an amazing big sister to Alby giving him cuddles and kisses and in recent months playing with him. The last time I was at work I only had me and Ava to get out the house. I didn’t find it too…

Transitioning from a bedside crib to a cot
Since Alby has been born we have used the Knuma Huddle of a night time . It really has made the nights so much easier . I can honestly say I have had very few nights where I haven’t had a decent amount of sleep. If I need to see to him in the night it’s been easy as his right next to me. Sadly the time has come to convert the huddle from the bedside crib to the desk and chairs . I say sadly it’s kind of a bitter sweet. I’m looking forward to using it as a desk and bench but then I’m going to miss having…

This months Bostik blogger theme is back to school . Now Ava isn’t going to school in September but she is going to nursery . Ava did go to nursery before I went on maternity leave with Alby. This time though she won’t be returning to the same nursery. She is going to attend a pre school run by the same people just on a different site . So she will know some of the staff that work there but many of them haven’t seen her in nearly a year . So going back to my roots of an Early years practitioner I thought doing an all about me activity…

5 easy ways to save money on your next family holiday
This is a collaborative post We are yet to go on a family holiday. Were wanting to wait a little bit longer before we attempt to take two small children out of the country. From what friends say to me it’s so worth all the stress but boy is it stressful. Another reason we haven’t taken the kids yet is because of Finances. For the last few years I have either been pregnant or were under taking big changes at home. This years big change is that were moving house so there is no summer holiday for us this year sadly. If all goes to plan though I want to…

Leesa mattress unboxing and review
Since becoming a parent I have learnt that sleep is so important. If I don’t get a good night’s sleep I really find the next day a struggle. The amount of sleep I now have is less than ever before. Ava generally sleeps through the night and Alby wakes about once. Which yes I know is really good but where as my days used to start at say 9 they now start at 6. I used to not be able to function with less than 8 hours solid sleep. Now if I get 8 hours solid sleep I feel like a new woman ready to take on the world. To…

Chicco Hoopla baby bouncer : review
We have recently been sent the Chicco Hoopla baby bouncer to review from Kiddies Kingdom . I know what you’re thinking a bouncer but your youngest is 8 months old . Well this bouncer isn’t just for babies it can be used with children up to 18kg as a chair . Now you know I’m a lover of products that have multiple uses. So this is a big plus for me. We did have a bouncer for Alby when he was younger but he really didn’t like it. I’m not sure why as it was the same one we had for Ava and she loved it. The Chicco Hoopla baby…

Easy Cherry Bakewell muffins recipe
I’m on a mission to make sure my children try a wider range of foods. I tend to stick to what I know they will like . Especially with Ava as she has got so picky recently. BritMum’s recently contacted me to see if I would like to take part in their #LoveFreshCherries challenge. Cherries is something I have never given to either of my children . So I though we would give it a go. Whilst the kids were in bed I thought I would make some cherry Bakewell muffins . Ava is a big lover of cake so I thought I could first introduce cherries to her in…

Stars and Snuggles baby star travel wrap: Review
I don’t know about you but I’m really struggling with what clothes to put Alby in at the moment. One minute it’s brilliant sunshine the next it’s pouring with rain ! The one place I find the hardest to dress Alby for is when we’re going in the car . I’m always really conscious about what his wearing. As I want to make sure nothing is impacting the safety of his car seat like thick coats. Then recently I was contacted by the lovely people over at stars and snuggles . To see if we would like to try one of their baby star wraps which can be used in…
