Cosi bed sheet four months on

As you may have seen back in June we reviewed the Cosi bed sheet . The Cosi bed sheet is very popular in Switzerland and consists of a fitted sheet with an integrated top half of a sleep sac. It allows children to feel safe and secure but also have the freedom to move around. 4 months on and we are still loving it . Especially now Ava can crawl and climb. The Cosi bed sheet gives her the freedom to roll onto her sides during the night , but then stops her from being able to stand up. Whilst I was washing the bedsheet the other week I realised…

creating a bright Future for our children

This post is an entry for BritMums #brightFuture Challenge, sponsored by Unilever Before having Ava I didn’t really think much about the future let alone a bright future. I would take each day as it came. Ava came along and all I do is think about the future what school she will go to, where we will be living .Most importantly what will the world be like for her when she is older. I want her to grow up happy , healthy and successful in what ever she choses to do. I have started to think about the little changes that I can make in my day-to-day life. To help the…

    Parenting with Anne Robinson #annerobinsonsbritan

Wow watching Anne Robinson’s Britain last night made me feel so good about myself . She was looking at parenting and all the different styles there are.She opened the program with the statement Your all striving for an impossible goal to be perfect mothers . That’s where it has all gone pair shaped. There is no such things as a perfect mother ! Thank god ! I will stop striving to be this perfect mother and just be mom. Like one of the moms said on a scale of 1-10 sometimes I’m a 10 sometimes I’m a 2. It just depends on the situation ( love this !! ) She…

The working parents guide, to raising happy and confident children :Review & giveaway

I have recently been sent a copy of Nadim Saad’s newest book The working parents guide, to raising happy and confident children. Now I’m not normally someone who reads parenting manuals but with my return to work fast approaching I thought this one may be useful. The normal problem I find with parenting books is that the author doesn’t seem to be like me. I always imagine them to have a million people to do different things for them, not actually parenting. So they don’t really have to tackle the same things that I do day-to-day . With this book it’s completely different I could tell straight away Nadim was talking from a…

Days out made easier by Mamia #MamiaDaysOut

This post is an entry for BritMums #MamiaDaysOut linky challenge, sponsored by Aldi Mamia. Taking Ava out is normally pretty stress free she has always loved being around people. I am now starting to find that she gets bored whilst in her pushchair. She either starts shouting at the top of her voice or crying . I have tried taking toys along with me and for a little while this works. Then once she is bored she throws them out normally landing in someone’s path. Then I have to do a very inelegant leap to save them from falling on them. I have now become that mom who takes snack with her…

5 staycation getaways for your family this autumn

This is a collaborative post.  For some parents, there may be an element of relief that comes with the back to school feeling. Indeed, keeping kids occupied and stimulated for the best part of three months isn’t necessarily the easiest thing in the world. But of course it does bring the curtain down on the holiday period, and indeed the (all too brief) British summer time. Yet that need not spell the end of future getaways for the family. Indeed, just getting away for a weekend can do wonders to refresh the mind, and make lasting memories for the family. Added to that, they can be done on the cheap…

For the last time she’s a girl !

Now I’m starting to get a little annoyed by the amount of people referring to Ava as a boy . Surely if you don’t know the child and it’s not obvious then don’t refer to their sex . Personally I think Ava looks like a girl . I think she has really feminine features . So it really annoys me when people say ” what a cute little boy “. I have even gone to the extreme of dressing her in very gender specific colour in order to stop this gender confusion . Did this help ? Did it boat . The other day she was dressed all in pink and a…
